We as the firm Beaufore are intensively engaged in the topic of child and youth employment as well as minimum wages. Firstly we also wanted to produce in so-called low-wage countries but then we had a look at this issue more closely. What we have found out has shocked us.
The fact that 11 year old teenagers work for 13 hours a day at seven days a week in a hall to embroider clothes of so-called premium model labels. Another terrible example is that adults handle with toxic chemicals without employment protection.
The result is that the remitters are mostly premium model labels from which you never would expect that.
We have set ourselves the task to manufacture our complete collection entirely in Germany or at fair trade contracts - from the cotton production to the sewing.
As a result the profit margin is minimized and the customer has to grip deeper into the pockets.
But in return for that we can offer a superior quality of our products than the others.
So compared to the so-called premium fashion labels we still can sleep at night in peace.
In addition it's easier to distribute the surf feeling in this way.
